I like to look back and see how far we have (or haven’t) come, so I thought it would be fun to post our first recorded version of “shells”. It’s kind of endearing in it’s own special way.

I fixed the photos page, so you should now get to see the images in their full glory (though they will still take a couple seconds to load). You can even download them if you want by clicking the “full size” link at the bottom of the expanded view. And speaking of downloads, our downloads section is now up and running! To help with the launch, I fixed everything that was bugging me about “shells” and made that our first song available for download. Enjoy!

Ok, the photos section is up now, but it’s a little wonky at the moment. As it turns out, Flash elements (like the music player) like to float around on top of everything else, so some of you may not be able to view the enlarged photos correctly. I’m working on it. I think the latest version of Flash Player might fix the problem, but I don’t have confirmation on that yet. The enlargements also take a while to load because I just uploaded rather large, uncompressed pictures. I’m going to try to fix that soon, too.

I know we’ve been promising a dowloads section, but it’s almost ready. The photo page is done and will also be up shortly, I’m just trying to work out the navigation system for the site. I’ll try to get them both up sometime this week.

This is probably the last edit for this recording of the song. It’s not a very clean edit, but I cut out some of the extraneous middle parts to make the song a more acceptable length. I think it sounds better, but you’re free to disagree in the comments.

This song is untitled right now, but it’s tropical sounding and it’s instrumental, so that’s what the title is for now. This is our first recording of the song; the recording is from our live performance at an open mic night at American University, so don’t expect it to be studio quality. At this point, we are mainly working on the actual song composition–it’s a bit too long and repetitive right now, so we need to figure out how to cut it down. There are also going to be some other cool effects going on in the final recording.
