We will be playing a 40-minute set at Mountain Stock in Haymarket, VA, this month. It’s on the 21st and we will be on around 5pm. Check the calendar for more details.

On a related note, we should have our demo ready to go (and therefore up for sale) by the 21st, so if you want to grab a copy, let us know! They will definitely be with us at the show. Each disc will feature hand-drawn art by one of us.

Oh yeah, we’ve also been working hard on getting our demo ready to go, so we’ve updated the songs in our music player to reflect those changes. We also uploaded a bunch of videos from our recent performance at Relay for Life.

So there’s this contest where the winner gets to record an EP with Slash (yes, Slash) and gets featured in Guitar World and all kinds of other goodies. If you haven’t looked at our calendar lately, then you probably don’t know that we are playing a show on Saturday at American University. You probably also don’t know that it is completely free to come in and watch. We play at 10 pm in Bender Arena, so come watch!

Although it is free, all donations go to support breast cancer research, so try to contribute at least a little bit. Every cent counts!

I fixed a couple of things on the site today. First, I made it so the logout link above the comments form actually works now. Second, I’ve added some features to deal with spam commenting, so hopefully that will mean I don’t have to moderate comments so much. If you are not a registered fan, you will have to solve a CAPTCHA every time you post a comment. If you are registered, you don’t have to.

There will probably be a lot less recordings posted here in the coming months. We’ve realized that we’ve become too focused on having recordings and not focused enough on actually writing music, so we are shifting gears and putting all our attention on songwriting and getting gigs for now.

And now, our first real recording of our formerly untitled song, “where we belong!” The lead guitar part needs a lot of help in terms of mixing (during the bridge). There was also another guitar part for the chorus, but it sounded bad, so it’s being cut until I rerecord it. There will probably be some drums in there at some point and we’ve also been experimenting with keyboards, so we’ll see what happens. I’m also not totally sold on the harmony vocals yet. Otherwise, I think it’s coming along nicely.

Well, I had some free time today, so I thought I’d get some mixing done today instead of waiting for the weekend. Surprise! Anyway, this is the newer version of “older.” We changed it so there is one guitar part and one bass part (which needs fixing) rather than mucking everything up with more guitars, although we are going to add back in the soloing. We also added some vocal harmonizing, mostly to experiment with, and a new transition before the chorus (which we are working on lyrics for). There is a drum part, but it hasn’t been recorded yet.
